The lock nut allows for easy and flexible distance adjustment and I was able to take out the pivot rod with a chisel and attach it to a drum lid sealing ring with a bolt through the pivot point directly. Closes the ring securely and without needing much force on the handle.
They look good. I don’t see any problems.
